For the Servants, Melt, Lip and Mecha-Eli all have more positives than negatives on their kits, with Lip being seen as really good. Those are just about the class itself though. If you aren't worried about damage taken, it's often better to bring a Zerker to a mixed node than an Alter Ego due to their higher attack power. This means that they're not doing a lot of general damage unlike say a Zerker or an Avenger, and thus combined with the only 50% boost they get against the Cavalry triangle, this means that they're not doing as much damage as you would expect them to do a lot of the time. Their class attack modifier is just 1.0 and their star weight is the same as a Saber. This limits your times where you can reliably use an Alter Ego. They have half damage against Knight classes, which means that any node with those classes mixed in becomes a problem for the Alter Ego, and there are quite a lot of them in both the story and events. Also they don't have damage resistance to anything but Foreigners, so again against a single Cavalry class it's probably better to use the counter class for less damage on your Servants. So this means that if you are against a single class, it's often far better to use the counter class. They are good against the cavalry triangle, but only deal 50% more damage, rather than double. Most have good passives except for Mecha-Eli, but her skills make up for that.
They're the only class that resists Foreigners, which might become a more common enemy in the Lost Belt. Assassin/Caster/Rider, meaning if you have a node with those classes mixed, an Alter Ego is a good choice.
